We just finished a Twinchie Swap in a group a belong to (Crop Circles). This was amazingly fun and challenging as at first I had no idea what a twinchie was, and when I found out I could not figure out how I was going to do anything on something so small !!
A Twinchie is a 2 X 2 inch square( or circle, flower, etc) decorated for use as an embellishment on a card, scrap page, etc.

This was my creation

I used 2X2 pieces of kraft paper, I stamped them with sheet music and distressed the using Tim Holtz Sabby Shutter and Tea Dye Distress pads. Scalloped punched the label from some music paper, stamped the the quote (KaiserCraft Life Sentiments) and then used distress ink to distress the edges. Tim Holtz Nostalgic Tissue tape along the side. Pearl and Lace ribbon.  The butterfly was made with EK's 3 in 1 punch (although I only used 2) The bottom butterfly is vellum the top a distressed book page, Black Soot Distress sparkle glue trimming the edges and a few pearls.

Below are all the Twinchies from the swap, I distressed an old wooden frame and now my Twinchies are proudly displayed !

I really liked the sketch this month on the My Mind's Eye Blog, so I thought I would give their February Sketch challenge a try.
I've fallen in love with the papers and collections by MME's, at the moment I do not have a lot (although I am quickly working on fixing that !!) but I had come across a find one day in a local store the WildFlower Glitter Designer Paper and I have been hoarding it until now! I love the muted distressed colors in these papers, the greens, blues yellows and purples oh my !! So I plunged into my treasured stack for this sketch challenge.

This is the February sketch

And this is my take on the sketch (I really need to work on keeping my arms straight and still for these shots I have no idea why this keeps eluding me haha)

I used paper from My Mind's Eye WildFlower Glitter Designer collection, as well as papers from the Meadow collection. Layered stickers are from Lost and Found 2. Ribbon tape and Splatter stamp from Tim Holtz, picture frames and butterfly are K&Company. Core'dinations cardstock, miscellaneous pearls and bird element to finish it off.

scrapbookSTEALS hosts a mid-week mojo challenge. Each week they provide a sketch, that you can complete and enter for a prize. Really get your scrap on and complete all 10 mid-week mojo's (they are done on a 10 week series) and be entered for a big drawing! I've seen many of my friends complete these and have always been in awe of not only their talent, but their vision, imagination and dedication to do all 10 ! Yes they are my heros !
This week I decided to bite the bullet and give the mojo sketch a try, I mean I have to find my mojo sometime right? haha.
This is the sketch this week

And this is what I came up with based on the sketch

I used Basic Grey's Kissing Booth for the paper, the layered flower element and the large title wording.  The chipboard flourish is Harmonie and stained with Tim Holtz distress stains. The layers behind the pictures, I cut and then stained with Tim Holtz Distress stains and inks. The My family and Glimpses of stickers are Fancy Pants Designs.
That's it, that's all, thanks for looking !!!

So this is pretty much my real first post. I'm not sure if I will ever get the hang of "blogging" or even remembering to blog lol but I am going to try !!

for this layout I used a sketch from PageMaps, and they happen to be hosting a contest based on this sketch with the prize being a collection from Pebbles Family Tie Collection.
This is the sketch

And this is my interpretation of the sketch, using pictures of my beautiful nieces

I started with Bazzil Cardstock and splattered it a little with some white acrylic paint,
Papers came from My Minds Eye Lime Twist Collect, as well as word titles from  other My Mind's Eye collections. the fabric lace is from My Minds Eye Lost and Found. The flowered Washi Tape is Doodlebug and the colored patterned washi is Smash Collection. The Blue Petal Pin is from Prima Flowers, miscellaneous buttons, brad, paper and gem for flower and clock stencil and white doily.

Scrapbooking fills my days – not to mention my living room, bedroom and closets! ~Author Unknown
Isn’t that the truth of the matter, as I am slowly coming to find as my house fills up, every nook and cranny full of paper, flowers, buttons, punches, stamps and so on. But the reality is, it’s also the fun of it because there is no garbage in scrapping, everything has a use and if not right now, someday down the road that tiny piece of paper torn from another will be the perfect piece needed on a project. So everything must find a place, a home, nothing gets thrown away. Ever.
